Shawna: my other half
We met in preschool when I had the brilliant idea to eat purple playdough and
decided to peer pressue my other sticky fingered class mates to do the same.
Even at that young age, Shawna was the only one who would go along with my crazy ideas.
It's been 12 years since that day, and we're still going strong and acting on all sorts of other crazy ideas.
She puts up with so much from me, I dont know how she does it. Shawna is probably the sweetest,
most giving person I have ever had the pleasure of sharing my days with, and I owe her so much of my
memories and laughter. Being friends with her has helped me to love myself for who I am, and find
the kindness in everyone.
Honestly she deserves so much more written here, a novel in fact...but words can't even express our
friendship. I think its explained more in the little things, the ability to know exactly what the
other is thinking without trying, the ability to speak our own languages, to laugh about all the
seths and olivers and sharpays in the world, to be able to switch from chemistry
to 'breaking rules', to wishes, to boyfriends and 8th grade in a split second, and not get lost.
Which, I'm sure, anyone other than Shawna and I must be right now. But thats the magic of it all.
Its us, and we're planning to keep it that way as long as possible.
